Well, my aunt died yesterday morning. I did not get to visit or talk to her. Cuntasaurus ensured I didn't get to see her - pretty fucking selfish, but not entirely surprising. Other than the death announcement I got yesterday morning, she has resumed her silence. I made sure to thank her for allowing me to see my aunt as I requested; apparently things happened too quickly for her to call me to tell me time was short. It's curious, though. Her other sister was able to be there, and others were able to see her. I suppose things happened too quickly for her to contact me, but not so quickly that she was unable to contact THE REST OF THE FUCKING FAMILY. Last on the list, you know.
She no longer attempts to deny that my father is not who she told me my entire life was my father, the man put on my birth certificate. Instead, she has progressed to completely not responding to any bit of that conversation. Other conversations taking place, such as her dying/dead sister or what a horrible daughter I am, get appropriate responses. Head in the sand won't work, bitch. She knows I'm tenacious.
I’ve contacted a few more family members and family friends who all are pretty shocked, so none can offer much useful information.
I've gotten a chance to look more at the Ancestry results and understand how the site works. I've ultimately decided to pay for the membership to access the database to build a family tree. I feel like this is going to be the only way I can figure this out, as it's a pretty well kept secret and the one bitch who knows ain't talking.
I seem to have two groups of closely related cousins (mostly 2nd and 3rd cousins) with whom I am not at all familiar. My theory is that one group is tied to the paternal grandfather and the other to the paternal grandmother. I just don't even know where to start though.
I’ve been chatting through the ancestry site with a lady named Becky who is supposed to be my second or third cousin. She’s built out an impressive family tree, and when I gave her the name of three relatives I shared with her (shown through ancestry), she immediately honed in on a likely common ancestor: one with the last name Poth.
I’ve spent a few hours today building out a family tree to visualize how I’m related to those four - Becky, Scott, Lanette, and Mallory - and it looks like a guy named William Poth should be my great grandfather to make it all match. For now, the focus is on building out that tree.
